TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: 300 People Dressed As Santa Set World Record, Raise Money For Charity

Talk about setting a great world record. With no Santa-Con’s happening this year these fishing lunatics picked up the slack. 300 people all dressed as Santa went fishing on a lake in North Carolina to break the world record for most people dressed as Santa.  The event also raised money for a good cause. Bringing in $15,000 worth of donations for Toys for Tots.

Fun fact: Santa Claus loves gettin’ after some Bass before Christmas time! About 300 anglers decked out as Santa Claus…

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do we leave cookie and milk for Santa on Christmas Eve?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do we leave cookie and milk for Santa on Christmas Eve?

The original idea of leaving treats for Santa and his reindeer dates all the way back to ancient Norwegian mythology,  but Americans started doing it as a tradition during the Great Depression in the 1930s. It became a sign of showing gratitude during what was a time of struggle back then.

We’ve been doing it ever since. Don’t forget about the carrots for the reindeer! And maybe some hand sanitizer this year too.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Easton Police Officer Saves Man And Dog From Icy Pond

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Easton Police Officer Saves Man And Dog From Icy Pond

With last week’s snow storm and cold temps it is more important than ever to be save around frozen ponds.

Sometimes there’s an accident and luckily we have people like Anthony Telesco, a police officer in Easton. He was able to rescue a man and his dog from a frozen pond near Helen Keller Middle School. All three were rushed to the hospital to be treated for cold water exposure. Luckily the man and his dog are both now doing okay.

This is definitely a good reminder to not walk, play, or crawl on water that is frozen or covered with ice.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why does it hurt to hit your funny bone?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why does it hurt to hit your funny bone?

It’s happened to everyone. It just happened to me the other day actually. You bang that little part of your elbow against something, “the funny bone”, and feel the weirdest sensation. But there is nothing funny about it. So why is it called that? and why does it happen?

The funny bone got its nickname because of that funny feeling that happens in your arm after you hit it. It’s usually a combination of tingling and numbness. It’s not actually a “bone” at all though. It’s a nerve which runs down the inside part of your elbow called the ulnar nerve. The purpose of the ulnar nerve is to let your brain know about feelings in your fourth and fifth fingers. That’s why you feel it there too sometimes if you really hit it hard.

During his time off a lot has happened obviously. In the world and in his own life. Over the summer Ed and his wife Cherry announced they welcomed their first child a baby girl which is exciting.

Sounds like he was also working on a lot of music. Today he released a new song called “Afterglow”. Which he says is not the first single from the next album (wait, there’s a next album?!) but just a song he loves and wanted to put out.
