TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: School Opens A “Good Deed Grocery Store”

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: School Opens A “Good Deed Grocery Store”

This is such a great idea that you could even implement in your own house.

A high school in Texas has opened up a campus grocery store and students pay in good deeds. It’s all based on a point system where they kids can do things like help clean up around the school, good behavior tasks and other forms of positive reinforcement. Even various chores around the building can get them points to buy groceries in the “Good Deed Grocery Store”

Not only are the kids learning about helping out and doing their part, but everything from math skills to supply management and work ethic. Which will go a long way to helping them with their first jobs.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do reindeer eye’s change color with the seasons?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do reindeer eye’s change color with the seasons?

Tis the season for singing Rudolph and putting out carrots for the reindeer on Christmas eve. Everyone knows Rudy’s nose was red, but did you know reindeer’s eyes change color?!

During the summer months their eye color is golden, then once winter sets in they start to change to a darker shade of blue which increases the scatter of reflected light behind their retina to help with night vision.

Part of the magic of being a reindeer I guess. Very cool.
