The things kids have been doing to help out during the pandemic this year have been extremely inspiring to say the least.
This latest story out of Chicago is incredible. Seven-year-old Hayley Orlinsky has been making and selling her homemade bracelets for charity. Her original goal was to get to $200. She has now raised almost $20,000! She says she’s using all the money to help buy PPE for the children’s hospital that treated her as a baby. What a great way to bring things full circle. The bracelets are really cool too!

We’ve all eaten them at baseball games, with other mixed nuts, or in the delicious creamy peanut butter form. But where and how to peanuts actually come to be? How do they grow?
Unlike things like pecans and walnuts, peanuts actually grow underground not on a tree. They’re planted in early spring and harvested in the fall. The plant that forms above ground looks like a flower. Then the peanuts actually grow underground in the roots of the plant. For a good crop you need 120-140 frost free days. Once they’re ready the farmers pull the plants from the ground with special machines, separate the peanuts, and let them dry.
Yum!
