Tell Me Something Good: Newlyweds Turn A Cancelled Wedding Reception Into Wonderful Surprise

Tell Me Something Good: Newlyweds Turn A Cancelled Wedding Reception Into Wonderful Surprise

I can’t even imagine being in the planning stages of a wedding when this pandemic hit. The stress of it all is already high in a normal wedding season nevermind here in 2020. Which is why stories like this make me so happy.

This one couple from Cleveland had been planning their wedding for a while now and decided to go through with it as a small backyard ceremony last week.  But the kicker is that they had to cancel the reception. Since it was so close to the date they had to still pay for all the food which would’ve been for the guests. In an amazing turn of events they donated all the food to a local women and children’s shelter.  They even helped serve it while they were still in their gown and tuxedo!

They clearly didn’t expect their big day to play out like this, but I’m sure after seeing all the people they helped they’re glad it did.

Tell Me Something Good: Couple Gives An Enormous Tip That’s Not Money

Tell Me Something Good: Couple Gives An Enormous Tip That’s Not Money

We’ve seen a lot these huge tip challenges lately. Where people are paying it forward to the service industry by leaving big tips. Normally it’s hundreds, sometimes thousands of dollars.

But sometimes it’s not money at all.

Lisa Mollet is a single mom who works as a waitress in New Jersey.  Like so many others she has struggled to make ends met from March through this summer.  Then recently just when business was starting to pick up again, her car broke down.  So it’s been tough year for Lisa to say the least.  Until something amazing happened. Two of her regulars that come in to dine with her all the time found out about her story and happened to have an extra car. So they decided to give Lisa the car as a tip! How incredible is that?!

Couples Court: Lisa and Ben have had it with their eccentric tenant. He lost his job in January and hasn’t paid since then. He howls at the moon at night and keeps the windows drawn but refuses to vacate since he’s protected by current Covid tenant laws. Ben has video footage of the tenant smoking weed and wants to turn it over to the cops in hopes he will vacate but Lisa says that’s asking for more problems from him. What would you do? (32:25)
