The July 4th weekend kicked off with some fireworks on the Shooting Stars countdown Friday night. Harry Styles, with his strawberries, summer evenings, and “your belly” for some reason? was able to juuuuuust edge out Gaga and Ariana’s Rain On Me to give Watermelon Sugar the number spot.

Tell Me Something Good: Festive Highway Plays “America The Beautiful” As Cars Drive On It
It’s July 4th weekend. Some people celebrate with sparklers and fireworks. Some with cannonballs and White Claws. Then some parts of the country have rumble strips on their highway that play America the Beautiful as you drive on it. So cool!
Route 66 is a famous road near Albuquerque, New Mexico. If you happen to be driving down it at 45 miles per hour or more make sure to put your windows down. You will hear “America the Beautiful” as you drive.

Tell Me Something Good: Kid’s Get Their Artwork For Essential Workers Displayed In Times Square
I love this.
It would be cool for anyone, even adults, to have something they created displayed on a billboard in Times Square. Never mind three young kids getting their artwork up there for all of NYC to look at. Even better? It was all for a great cause to support essential workers.

Tell Me Something Good: 2 Popular Restaurant Chains Step Up To Help During Coronavirus Pandemic
Two restaurant chains that you’ve most likely been to before have stepped up big to help out their employees and healthcare workers during the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic.
First is the the founder of Texas Roadhouse restaurants (those rolls! so good) is donating his entire $800,000 salary to his workers. Plus he’s giving another $5 million to an emergency fund which they will be able to access. Pretty amazing way to take care of the people who work for his company considering the state of employment in the country right now.
Next is the Hard Rock Café. Such a fun place. You’ve probably been to the one at Foxwoods here in CT or maybe when you were on vacation, literally anywhere. There are so many! Anyway, Hard Rock is giving free burgers to all healthcare workers for the entire month of July. With the location in CT at Foxwoods closed at the moment, I believe the closest one to here would be in Times Square.

Tell Me Something Good: Community Throws Surprise Celebration For Two Unsung Essential Workers
Ever since the start of the pandemic communities around the country have been thanking and honoring people working on the front lines for keeping us all safe and healthy.
When we think of front line workers the obvious one that come to mind are doctors, nurses, police, fire, EMT, etc… but one community in Florida threw a surprise celebration for another important essential person. The two sanitation workers who pick up their trash every week. The neighbors all got together and had an outdoor surprise party for the two men last Friday when they showed up on their usual route. Even the mayor showed up to show is appreciation!
