TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: A delicious tradition is returning this April

Ben and Jerry’s who are based in Vermont a few hours north are bringing back their very popular “Free Cone Day” here in Connecticut and at all their locations on April 3.

They had been doing it since 1979 to show love to their customers, but it has been on a four-year hiatus when the COVID-19 pandemic hit because of public health concerns.

But now it’s back! Coming up in a few weeks on April 3 from 12 – 8 p.m. you can go to any Ben and Jerry’s location for a free single-scoop ice cream in either a cup or a cone.

The locations where you can get your free cone fix here in Connecticut are in Canton, New Haven and West Hartford.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Who came up with March Madness? Who owns the term?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Who came up with March Madness? Who owns the term?

March Madness has officially begun. If you filled out bracket you’re probably glued to the games. The first round of the Men’s tournament started today, women start this weekend too.

There has been much talk about the term “March Madness”. Who owns it? Who came up with it? etc…

The term was first used back in 1982 when one of the announcers, Brent Musburger, randomly said it during one of the tournament games he was calling. It sort of became his thing after that. Then in 1996 there was a legal battle between the NCAA and an Illinois High School Boys Basketball Championship, who apparently had been using the phrase since 1939. In a VERY unusual ruling the courts decided to give rights to both parties and created a “dual use trademark.” for March Madness.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Jason Derulo tips server $5,000 while out to eat with his family

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Jason Derulo tips server $5,000 while out to eat with his family

If you follow Jason Derulo on social you’ve seen his fun videos. He’s always posting great content. Always seems like a nice guy and this story proves it.

After having dinner at a restaurant in Omaha, NE with his family he left the server a $5,000 tip on the $759.99 bill!

You can see the waiter talking about it on his TikTok here. ““Serving @jasonderulo and his family is something I’ll never forget I cannot say thank you enough.”

Then Jason responded with his own video and replied in the comments to him ““You seem like a great person. Thank you for taking such great care of our fam. Keep spreading the love bro,”

Awesome move by Jason. I really do believe that if you put positive vibes into the universe like this it will spread to others.
