Eggflation has taken the country by storm lately. With eggs averaging around $5.50 a dozen, and closer to $10 for a dozen organic eggs, some people are thinking that maybe they should produce their own and get into the chicken coop business to save some money.
The maximum cost to raise chickens in your backyard will be about $69/month, for a flock of 5 hens, kept for 5 years. This includes the birds, feed, bedding, a brand-new high-quality coop, and miscellaneous costs like medicine, pest control, and feeders and waterers. It’s A LOT of work.
So even with the price of eggs being high, it’s still cheaper just to buy them at the store.

It’s getting a little colder out as we get further into winter which means it’s the perfect weather for some comfort food like Mac & Cheese! There are so many variations on this delicious creation. Alex has some of the best places to get some yummy Mac & Cheese here in CT.

The Corner Pug in Hartford. For one of their entrees they have the Pug Mac N’ Cheese which is baked ziti with swiss, gruyere and cheddar cheese sauce topped with breadcrumbs.
Bears BBQ, which has locations in New Haven & Hartford. They offer the Mac Attack which is there mac and cheese piled high with your choice of BBQed meat. They also have their BEAR Attack which is cornbread, mac and cheese, and your pick of meat. So, two really great mac and cheese sides from Bears BBQ.
There is also J Roo’s in North Haven, which offers Chili Mac, so their house made mac and cheese mixed with their spicy chili. Perfect for a cold winter night. They also offer their mac and cheese as an entrée with ham or bacon, buffalo chicken, or picked lobster meat.
There’s a spot in New Haven called Jordan’s Hot Dogs & Mac, which serves a great Hummel’s hot dog with mac and cheese. They also offer a bunch of add-ons to your hot dog if you really want to pile it all on.
Lastly, there is Mac N Out located in Milford right on the Boston Post Road, which offers mac and cheese bites, mac and cheese stuffed jalapenos, deep fried mac and cheese, and even chili mac spring rolls, which sound delicious.
Everyone loves dolphins. They might be the most universally beloved creature on the planet.
Which is why when this young dolphin got into a creek in Clearwater, Florida recently there was a huge rescue effort from local people and help form a nearby aquarium.
The poor dolphin couldn’t find its way to the ocean for over two weeks. That’s when 28 people got together to save the day. There was a little gap in a bridge that would lead it back to the ocean. The group decided to stand shoulder-to-shoulder in the creek as a wall of people making sure the dolphin found the gap… and it worked!
They were able to corral it through the gap and past the bridge back into the ocean. Employees from an aquarium helped organize the rescue. They were able to get the whole thing on video too which you can see here:video.
Have you ever looked in the mirror and wondered why you have eyebrows? There are more than a few reasons why we as humans developed that hair above our eyes.
There are the practical reasons how they hair actually protects your eyes against debris, sweat, dust, and even sunlight. Then there is also the communication factor. You can tell a lot from a person just by looking at their eyebrows. If they’re happy, angry, scared, or many other emotions.
Eyebrows are essential to our way of life so keep them trimmed, but not totally gone.
