TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: A pizza world record is broken. Everyone eats!

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: A pizza world record is broken. Everyone eats!

If you know anything about me, you know that I love pizza. I love making it, eating it, and I love stories about pizza. I wish this story happened in Connecticut since we have the best pizza in the country, maybe in the world, but it actually happened in Los Angeles last week.

Pizza Hut broke a world record by making a 14,000 square-foot pizza at the Los Angeles Convention Center. They had to assemble it on the floor of the convention center then use a bank of heaters to cook it from above. It took about 48 hours start to finish. Using over 13,000 pounds of dough, 5,000 pounds of sauce, 8,800 pounds of cheese and more than 630,000 slices of Pepperoni. If you’re wondering how they ate all this pizza? Pizza Hut says that they made sure that the 68,000 slices didn’t go to waste. They actually donated all the pizza to charities in L.A. Which is awesome

I just wanna know how they found a pizza cutter big enough to cut this thing.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: How long does a red light last before it turns green?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: How long does a red light last before it turns green?

If you just got home from work, you were probably sitting at a couple red lights on your way home wondering “why is this light taking so long to change”. Is there actually an exact time between a red light and green light? It seems like it’s forever, but according to the National Association of City Transportation officials the amount of time for a light to remain red before turning to green is about 60 to 90 seconds. I will never be lower than 60 never gonna be more than 90. It does feel much longer sometimes but that’s pretty much the average time.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Local Stay-at-home Mom starts Dance Studio for Kids and Adults with Special Needs

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Local Stay-at-home Mom starts Dance Studio for Kids and Adults with Special Needs

I love this story.

Last week I got an email from Erika Reynolds who is a mother of four and was looking for volunteer opportunities for her daughter Katherine, a High School student in Greenwich. They thought that it would be a nice idea to give dance lessons to Autistic kids in the community.

In 2022, Erika Rented a Dance Studio and posted about free dance classes on Facebook.

Now the Studio has grown to over 20 high school girls volunteering and 17 students coming from all over Fairfield County to learn dance. They do everything from Basic Dance to HipHop and even Classical Ballet. One of the best parts about it is they have a 1:1 student ratio. Which is great for that one on one connection.

The studio is called Flower Petals Adaptive Dance Company. They just became a 501c3 in December. You can learn more about them here: FlowerPetalsAdaptiveDance.com

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What does DJ stand for?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What does DJ stand for?

Happy National DJ Day! If you have a DJ in your life you should send them a fun text to celebrate.

A lot of you already know what DJ stands for, but for any gen z kids who might not… DJ stands for “Disc Jockey”. Back in the old days of radio the on air personalities would jockey the discs which were vinyl records, then CDs, now it’s all digital.

So in a way I guess “DJ” still works in 2023 as “Digital Jockey”!
