MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do people kiss under the mistletoe?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do people kiss under the mistletoe?

Kissing under the mistletoe might not be as popular these past few years because of COVID and all, but it seems to be back. People have been kissing under the decoration for years and it all dates back to Norwegian mythology. Frigg, the goddess of love, promised to kiss anyone who passed under the berry-laden plant after it saved her son’s life.

Then in fast forward to the 18th century, that’s when the Christmas tradition started to catch on in England.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Determined Mother And Daughter Use Positive Thinking To Get Home After Cancelled Flight

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Determined Mother And Daughter Use Positive Thinking To Get Home After Cancelled Flight

This is a story that will restore your faith in humanity. In this world that seems to be more and more divided stories like this always come around to give us hope and that feel good feeling.

It all came from positive thinking. Alanah and Renee a mother and daughter duo were trying to get home on a 7:00 PM flight from Orlando to Knoxville only to have their flight delayed, and then cancelled. The airline insisted there was no promises they would be able to get another flight.

Meanwhile, there were others on the flight who were having the exact same issue. 13 of them to be specific. Everyone had important things to do the next day. Interviews, meetings, speeches. They couldn’t afford to miss. Alanah and Renee bonded with the fellow stranded strangers so much that they all decided to put their money together and rent a passenger van to drive them all home. 650 miles, and  a 10 hour drive later they were back in Knoxville in time for their appointments the next day.

Crazy! The power of positive thinking and determination. They posted a fun video of it all too which you can check out here.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Where did Gatorade get its name?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Where did Gatorade get its name?

There are two kinds of people who consume the majority of Gatorade. Athletes on sidelines and people who are extremely hungover. Where did this recovery drink get it’s name anyway?

Gatorade was invented at the University of Florida in 1965. So naturally they named  it after the mascot of the school, the Gators.

The most interesting part… The University actually gets 20% of all the profits from sales of the beverage.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: A Christmas Miracle For Person Who Lost Envelope of Christmas Cash

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: A Christmas Miracle For Person Who Lost Envelope of Christmas Cash

It’s that time of year when money is tight, you’re out doing your shopping, everyone is in a frenzy, making it easy to make a mistake or lose something. But when it’s an envelope of cash you are using to buy gifts it makes things even more stressful.

That’s what happened to a person in Nashville while they were at a Home Depot. Luckily the employees of the store found the envelope of $700 cash and did the right thing. They tracked down the owner on Facebook and were able to get the money back to them.

I’m sure Santa will be good to them for doing the right thing. Definitely on the nice list this year.
