TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: A Lost & Found Airport Story For The Ages

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: A Lost & Found Airport Story For The Ages

The worst feeling ever is losing something at the airport. Bags, your phone, laptop, etc… but the BEST feeling in the world is when someone returns it to you.

That’s what happened to this woman boarding a Southwest flight out of Long Beach, CA recently. She realized her phone was missing and she had left it in the terminal. Shockingly one of the workers on the tarmac had found it ran out to the plane which was already backing up. The pilot was able to stop and open the cockpit window allowing the worker to jump up and pass him the phone. The video of the whole ordeal is wild you can watch it here.

Luckily the woman got her phone back safe and sound. I hope she thanked that worker and pilot!

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: There’s a famous singer who used to be a voice on the Peanuts cartoons

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: There’s a famous singer who used to be a voice on the Peanuts cartoons

With the holidays quickly approaching it’s almost time to watch all the Peanuts cartoon specials.

One think I never knew was how one of the voices is someone you probably know very well from her music. Stacy “Fergie” Ferguson who was in the Black Eyed Peas and known for her solo career was the voice of Sally Brown, Charlie Brown’s kid sister, on many of the Peanuts cartoons that were produced in the ’80s. How funny is that?! I’ll have to rewatch them now and listen closely.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Masuk Students Are Off To See the Wizard

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Masuk Students Are Off To See the Wizard

Today’s Tell Me Something Good story comes from Masuk High School in Monroe.

The students in the drama department will be performing The Wizard of Oz this weekend, November 18th and 19th. One of my favorites!

Performances are Friday, November 18th at 7 PM and Saturday, November 19th at 2 pm and 7 pm.  Tickets are $15 adults and $10 for students and can be purchased by visiting www.showtix4u.com or by calling 203-452-5823 ext 7035.

Monroe, CT – Masuk Drama Department is off to see the Wizard on November 18 and 19th, presenting the MGM classic fantasy musical, The Wizard of Oz live on stage!

When asked why the musical resonates with audiences, Tom Simonetti director of Masuk’s Drama Department, said: “From the time I was a kid, the line that Glinda recites at the end: ‘You always had the power, my dear, you just had to learn it yourself’ has always resonated with me.”

“In the past few years, many educators have seen our young people lose their confidence.  This is such an inspiring tale about finding and learning about yourself, even through adversity.”

Follow the yellow brick road in this delightful stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale, featuring the iconic musical score from the MGM film.  The timeless tale, in which young Dorothy Gale travels from Kansas over the rainbow to the magical Land of Oz, continues to thrill audiences worldwide.

The show features…Audrey Lesko as Dorothy Gale; Izzy Tiska as Scarecrow/Hunk; Muriel Bailey as Tin Man/Hickory; Jamie Grosso as Lion/Zeke; Maile Booth as Witch/Miss Gulch; Vibhuti Jani as Aunt Em/Glinda; Jonathan Fontana as Professor Marvel/Wizard; Brady Ebner as Uncle Henry; Samantha Cornut as The Jitterbug/Ensemble and Ensemble are Sammy Davoren, Allie Greathouse, Sinead O’Leary, Aaron Persico, Riya Pooskur and Kenzie Stepkoski,

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What was the first item sold on QVC?

You probably have a few relatives who do their holiday shopping on QVC. I know I do. But what was the first item every purchased on QVC?

The shower radio! When the network first launched in 1986 it was the shower radio they were selling first which cost $11.49 at the time.  They did $7,400 in sales too. I feel like the shower radio still a popular item in 2022.
