“Bike Buses” are what people are calling the newest trend among parents and kids. They are popping up more and more all around the country. Basically a big group of parents and middle school/high school aged kids all get together to ride their bikes in a big group to school in the morning. Then home in the afternoon.
It’s kind of a genius way to solve the bus driver shortage. Remember that from earlier in the school year? It also gets the kids some much needed exercise and even cuts down on the always infuriating traffic situation in the morning during the school year. Some of the kids say they are even in better moods throughout the day because of it.
What a great idea. Let’s get a few of these going here in Connecticut!

The 11:35 start time began in the 90s when the Gulf War was going on. Networks wanted the extra 5 minutes of news coverage on the war in the 11 o’clock broadcast. Then it’s just stayed that way ever since.
