TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Thoughtful way one restaurant owner kept all his employees while shut down

Restaurants and small businesses have been through a lot the past few years. From being shut down during covid to renovating or outfitting their locations in new ways to adapt. It’s been hard to keep employees too.

But for this one McDonald’s franchise owner in Ohio he was able to keep all of his staff and still PAY them while he shut down the place for a few months to renovate.

The craziest part of it all and why it was so important for him to do this for his employees was that he started as a part-time worker at the McDonalds 60 years ago! Then over the decades worked his way up until he ultimately owned the place as he does now.

He realizes a lot of his employees live paycheck to paycheck, and wanted to keep that income going for them.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What coffee keeps you more cool, hot or iced?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What coffee keeps you more cool, hot or iced?

It might make sense that iced is the answer. And while it does tastes refreshing in the summer, when it comes to cooling you off it’s kind of just a quick fix. Think of it like this… drinking 1 cold beverage into your hot body is like dumping a glass of ice into a hot bath.

Drinking a hot coffee will increase your core temperature, which then cues the body’s natural response to increase perspiration. As the sweat evaporates from your skin it actually “acts as a coolant.” Which will in theory cool you off more than the iced coffee.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Child music prodigy may have got his skills from something his mother did during pregnancy

If you’ve ever tried to play an instrument piano, guitar, trumpet, you know how hard it is to learn and master. So stories like this always blow me away.

This kid in California has been all over the news because he’s a musical prodigy. He broke a record when he was only 12 years old for being able to play 44 different instruments. I can’t even master 1! Then four years later he’s now 16 and can play over 100.

The most interesting part of this is that his mom says she loves Mozart and used to play his music a lot when she was pregnant with him. She thinks maybe that somehow channel his skills.

Maybe!
