I’ve been fascinated by that recent story down near Florida of the passenger, Darren Harrison, landing the small plane he was on after the pilot had a medical episode. Air traffic control was able to talk him through he process of landing and he safely got the plane on the ground. But he may have also saved the pilot’s life in the process.
The medical issue the pilot had was actually a “severe cardiac event”. He had a big tear in his aorta. Causing what turned out to be a pretty big heart attack. But because Darren was able to land so quickly and safely, he ended up surviving. He was released this past Monday, and is at home recovering. They say if the plane had stayed up there much longer he may not have made it.
Even more reason why this was such a heroic moment. Incredible.
This weekend is supposed to get pretty warm Saturday and Sunday in the 80s. If you have a dog they’ll probably be pretty hot and sweaty. But how do dogs sweat?
A lot of people think it’s through their mouth. That definitely cools them down when they stick out their tongue and start panting. But the actual sweat comes from the pads on their paws which have sweat glands similar to humans. That’s why on a hot day you might see foot marks from your dog on the ground.

After fighting for equal pay for a very long time the U.S. Women’s soccer team reached a milestone moment today. U.S. Soccer announced that men’s and women’s national teams will now receive equal pay. A truly historic moment. The big piece of the deal, which runs through 2028, is the prize money during the World Cup. Teams get paid bonus based on how far the advance in the tournament. The Men’s national team always received a high bonus rate. They will be equal now.
To be honest the women’s team has kind of been much better than the men as of late… maybe the women should even get more pay! Ha ha
All joking aside, this is a great moment for the future of women’s sports.
If you do a lot of cooking or baking you’ve probably had this thought cross your mind a few times. What makes brown sugar difference from white sugar?
Sure they taste different, but the only real difference is that for brown sugar they put a little bit of the molasses that is removed back in during the refining process. Giving it the taste and brownish look.
