TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Doorbell camera saves family’s home from fire

Technology has done some amazing things over the years. Sometimes it even can save people from harm.

Like this story in Nebraska recently. A teenager was home alone when the family’s doorbell camera picked up some motion from a wildfire that had started across the street. It was picking up the smoke in the air. The kid’s mom called him because she had got an alert from the camera. He was able to call 911 getting the fire department to came to put out the fire saving the house and neighborhood.

Unbelievable!

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: When an Astronaut is in space does their height change?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: When an Astronaut is in space does their height change?

I’ve always wondered this. With all of the gravity up in space and everything going on is there any truth to the fact that it changes the height of astronauts?

It is! People can grow about 3% taller while in space. For the average six foot tall person that’s about two inches. Once they get back down to earth it takes a few MONTHS for gravity to pull them back to their normal height.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Olympic Champion making a stop here in Connecticut

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Olympic Champion making a stop here in Connecticut

It’s not often you get to see an Olympic Champion perform up close. Unless you’ve had the pleasure of attending the Olympics somewhere in the world over the years. But it’s very exciting when they make an appearance right in our backyard here in Connecticut.

You might remember Olympic figure skating bronze medalist Gracie Gold from the 2014 games. She will be coming Milford this weekend as part of the Ice Dreams national tour. Happening at Milford Ice Arena on May 14th.

Not only is she an Olympic medalist she is also a strong mental health advocate. Which is fantastic.

If you’d like to see Gracie and other Olympic champs live up close you can get tickets here.
