That’s definitely the case with Author Alan Katz, of Milford, Connecticut. Alan has written over 50 children’s books and has even been nominated for a bunch of awards including Emmy’s for his writing on network TV shows.
This Friday he’s giving back to his hometown community and will be doing a FREE even at the Barnes & Noble in Milford for local families from 5pm-6pm. He refers to it as a “Super Silly Evening of poems and stories”.

Not only is this a crazy adventure she on… she’s doing it all with ONE LEG! Jacky lost the lower half of her left leg below the knee to cancer. She now runs with a prosthetic. According to the legend throughout history, a messenger in Greece had to run roughly 25-miles from a town named Marathon to Athens to announce a Greek military victory.
Once he arrived and gave the message he immediately dropped dead. As a tribute to him, the Marathon became a part of the modern Olympic Games in 1896. The changed the distance to the current 26.2 miles after the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris. Which it has been every since.
