TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Dogs helping other dogs

What is the only that cuter than a dog helping someone? A dog helping ANOTHER DOG! And here in Connecticut its even better when one of the dog’s is a husky. Go UCONN.

This 11-year-old Siberian husky is from Seattle. He’s becoming very popular on the internet now because he has his own service dog to help him out. His name is Sterling and sadly he got glaucoma which ruined his eyesight a few years ago. But now that he has this service dog to help him out it’s been great.

The best part is they have totally become best friends too. The service dog’s name is “Walker” which is fitting.

Here are the photos of them out and about they are amazing.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: When did holding up lighters at concerts start and why?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: When did holding up lighters at concerts start and why?

If you’ve ever been at a concert where they play a ballad or slow song you’ve probably been part of the phenomenon where people all hold up lighters in the crowd. These days it has switched over to people using their cell phone flashlight or screen which is a little safer. But when did this all begin?

There are many different theories on this but the most popular one is that it started back in the 60s and 70s. Specifically at Woodstock in 1969 when people held up their lighters to honor musicians who had passed away.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Deli worker does goes above and beyond to connect with two of her regular customers

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Deli worker does goes above and beyond to connect with two of her regular customers

Sometimes it feels like customer service is a lost art. Going above and beyond for people who are loyal to your business is a must if you want to be successful in any field.

A perfect example of this is this story of a 22-year-old deli worker in Australia. She has gone viral now because of what she’s done to connect with two of her regulars at the restaurant. The two people are deaf. So she made it a point to learn basic sign language in order to communicate with them whenever they come in. After learning a few phrases on YouTube to start it has worked well so far, but she said she plans to stick with it and keep learning until she is fluent in sign language.

Such a wonderful thing for her to do. I bet that deli is delicious too.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do we say “In like lion, out like a lamb” about March?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do we say “In like lion, out like a lamb” about March?

You’ve probably heard this saying every year around this time “March comes in like a lion, out like a lamb” but what does it mean and where does it come from?

According to the Farmers’ Almanac, the phrase is a weather folklore going back centuries ago that meant if the weather at the start of month was bad (roaring, like a roaring lion) then in theory March should end with good weather (gentle, like a lamb).

But why those specific animals? That’s based on astrology and the zodiac signs. This time of the year in March, Leo is the rising sign and then when April arrives it’s Aries which represents the lamb.
