Today is March 1st. It’s also Mardi Gras and Fat Tuesday! But why do we call it that?
Traditionally Fat Tuesday is the day before Ash Wednesday. Which is the start of Lent in western religions like Roman Catholic and Protestant. The idea was that people would eat all the meat and fatty foods they could on that day since they won’t be able to for the next few weeks once Lent starts. Hence the name… Fat Tuesday!
It is also Mardi Gras down in New Orleans. This year is the first time in 2 years (because of the pandemic) that they’ve been able to party in the streets with the real parade.

This is a great story to think about next time something bad or unlucky happens. If you just try to thinking positive and turn your luck around it just might happen.

So there you go… the lesson here? If something bad happens just play the lottery.
If you have a dog you’ve probably by now realized how much they like chewing and playing with squeaky toys. But why does this high pitch noise inside of a stuffed animal or rubber casing bring them so much joy?
The reason is because dogs are decedents of wolves. This act of chasing or chewing on a toy satisfies their prey drive and instinct to hunt and capture tiny animals. There is also an element of instant gratification when they grab the toy.
