TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Couple braves blizzard to tie the knot

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Couple braves blizzard to tie the knot

While you were probably snowed in watching movies and drinking hot chocolate one couple in Rhode Island were outside tying the knot.

They had been planning on this day for their wedding for about a year now so they weren’t about to cancel it. They already had things engraved, marriage license made, and other things that said 1/29/22. So they decided to go forth and get married outside in the blizzard on the steps of the Providence Public Library.

Honestly… it looked beautiful. The bride had a wintery dress and vail, the snow flakes coming down in the photos added to the whole thing. They will remember this special snowy day forever now.

If you want to see the photos and read more about them here is the link

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why are insects like moths attracted to light?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why are insects like moths attracted to light?

You probably seen it many times on your back porch or garage. Insects like moths flying right into the light. But why do they do this? It’s actually pretty interesting.

These type of insects go towards the lights because they mistake them for the light of the moon. Which is how they used to get around before artificial lights were invented.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Kids in Florida classroom see snow for the first time ever

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Kids in Florida classroom see snow for the first time ever

I realize with this blizzard coming in this weekend no one here in the northeast wants to hear about people who are bummed they’ve “never seen snow” before… but this story is really cute and fun.

An elementary school teacher in Florida had two kids in her class who had never seen snow in person. So she called her sister who lives in Kentucky and asked if she could pack a box with ice and overnight ship a snowman to her in Florida. The sister did it and it totally worked! She was able to show the kids their first snow ever. How fun is that?!

Now, if the forecast is correct and we get as much snow as they’re saying this weekend here in Connecticut…. these kids are more than welcome to take some of ours too.
