I can totally relate to this story because when my wife was pregnant with our first daughter I was so nervous she would go into labor when I was on the air on the radio doing the show. Luckily it happened at night.
But for this radio host over in England… that’s exactly what happened!
He was in the middle of doing his show last Friday when he got the call that his wife was in labor. Obviously he left to go to the hospital and their baby girl Robyn is healthy and doing great.
At the time there was a really bad storm where they live and he was reporting on the weather on air. So they also decided to give her the middle name “Storm”. What a fun story to tell her when she gets older.
When you commit to a game of Monopoly you’ve got at least 3-4 hours of starring at that board. You’ve probably noticed that on the jail space there is a guy in the jail behind the bars…. And yes he has a name! Jake the Jailbird.
Also, the cop on the board who throws him in jail that you use on the Chance and Community Chest “Go Directly to Jail” cards has a name too… Officer Edgar Mallory.
So bust out that knowledge next time you’re in the middle of a 4 hour game with someone.

Social media has become a very hot button issue for parents lately. What age should your kids have a phone? What about an Instagram account? How can you make sure they are safe online? That their mental health is okay? It is all enough to make you think “I wish they could just not be on any of it”. Well, his one mom in Minnesota did exactly that with her son. Here’s how she pulled it off…
She basically bribed him by promising when he was 12 that if he stayed off all social media for 6 YEARS till his 18th birthday she would pay him $1,800. To a 12 year old that might as well be millions right? The kid actually kept to his promise and pulled it off! Ironically his mom then posted the whole story on her Facebook page saying it was the best money she every spent.
If you’re wondering whether he will keep the streak going and continue to stay off it… he said absolutely not. But now that he has signed up for Instagram he feels someone in their 80s because he has no ideas what’s going on. But he is $1,800 richer!
Certain words and terms that feel like they have been around forever, a lot of time didn’t exists until someone came up with the idea to use it.
Like the word “teenager”. The word first appeared in print in an issue of Popular Science three in 1941. One of the writers for the magazine was talking about people who were of the “teen age” (13 through 17) and wrote “I never knew teen-agers could be so serious. The term stuck ever since. Almost how millennials was created during this generation.
