Did you get a Senior Superlative in high school?  What kind of job do you have now?  Anna read a study that one superlative in particular correlates most closely with high intelligence, and it’s not the one you think!  (10:54)

It’s good to want to better yourself, but if you buy an extremely expensive piece of workout equipment, set it up in your living room and then never use it, that’s all I need to know about you!  (20:50)

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: 11-year-old Greenwich boy celebrating “Socktober” by helping those in need

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: 11-year-old Greenwich boy celebrating “Socktober” by helping those in need

If you follow me on Instagram (@KevinBegley) you’ve probably seen that every October I celebrate #Socktober by posting daily photos to my story of whatever fun socks I’m wearing each day. It’s a fun bit I’ve been doing for the last couple years.

The movement has clearly caught on because now there is a boy named Jackson in Greenwich who is also celebrating #Socktober but his mission is to help as many people as possible.

He’s collecting socks all month long. This will be his 3rd annual sock drive. Over the last few years of doing it he has already collected and donated over 10,000 pairs of socks for local homeless shelters. Now with a new goal of getting even more sock, he has launched a website jacksonssocktober.com and an Instagram page @jacksons_socktober.

Love it! Go Jackson! And happy #Socktober everyone

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Is Cap’n Crunch from the cereal box based on a real person?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Is Cap’n Crunch from the cereal box based on a real person?

I’ve often wondered this while walking the cereal aisle in the grocery store. Cap’n Crunch looks like he would be the most likely cereal mascot that was actually based on a real person. Turns out it’s true, he is!

Cap’n Crunch’s full name is Horatio Magellan Crunch. Which is amazing. He was named after the famous explorer Ferdinand Magellan. A bonus fact… his ship is also called the S.S. Guppy.

I haven’t had Cap’n Crunch in YEARS but it might be time to pick up a box again.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: 18-year-old pilot breaks crazy world record

Most of us are just getting on a plane to fly alone for the first time at 18 never mind flying the plane OR flying the plane around the world!

This 18-year-old pilot from the U.K. recently became the youngest person to fly solo around the world

He took off and started in the Netherlands and made 12 stops along the way. The whole trip for him to land back in the Netherlands too 44 days. He originally wanted to do it when he was 17, but the pandemic forced him to postpone the trip.

That’s a Looooong flight. Hopefully he had snacks and bathroom stops
