TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Quick thinking McDonalds Manager comes to the rescue in the drive-thru

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Quick thinking McDonalds Manager comes to the rescue in the drive-thru

You just never know when you’re going to need someone’s quick thinking help to potentially save your life. Sometimes it happens at a McDonalds of all places.

This happened in Detroit recently when a McDonalds manager saved a guy who had extremely low blood sugar levels. The man and his wife were driving when his wife realized he was going into diabetic shock. She pulled into the McDonalds and went straight for the drive-thru to ask for some Orange Juice. The manager on duty, James Dalpiaz has an aunt who is diabetic so he knew exactly what to do. He grabbed the OJ and put some extra sugar in it. Then sprinted out to the car to give it to the guy. Luckily the man’s level evened out and he is okay.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why doesn’t honey have an expiration date?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why doesn’t honey have an expiration date?

If you’re like me you have had the same bear shaped bottle of honey in your pantry for as long as you can remember. Is there a time it needs to be tosses? Maybe not?

There is actually no expiration date on honey, simple because it never goes bad. It’s the only food that can actually last forever.

So if we find ourselves in a zombie apocalypse or some sort of power outage blackout… stock up on that honey.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: We’ve got a real life Footloose happening in Norwalk

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: We’ve got a real life Footloose happening in Norwalk

It all started last year when the Junior Prom for Norwalk High School got canceled because of COVID and this ongoing pandemic. Then this past spring the prom got canceled for a second season in a row. Fast forward to Fall 2021 and Norwalk High School’s senior class president Olivia Mattera had enough and wasn’t going to let it happen again.

Olivia and some of her classmates went in front of the Board of Education last week and pleaded their case about the decision to cancel yet another upcoming dance next month. They made some pretty valid points about students mental health over the course of the last 18 months. There has been a lot of depression, anxiety, and kids just feeling disconnected from their friends and peers. There’s nothing like a school dance to raise spirits and bring everyone together right?

Right! It worked! A few days ago Superintendent Alexandra Estrella broke the news to the students that they will in fact be able to have their upcoming dance. As long as they follow specific health guidelines put in place to keep everyone safe. Which is what most events are doing now anyway.

Go Olivia!! Well done. Dance on, kids.

If you missed it this morning The Anna and Raven Show had Olivia on the air to talk about the whole thing. Here’s the podcast of their interview with her:

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do pilots have to always eat different in-flight meals?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do pilots have to always eat different in-flight meals?

This is one of those weird things you never think about but totally makes sense. Almost every airline requires their pilot and copilot to eat different meals while in-flight. The reason? In case there’s something wrong with the food they can’t have a scenario where both pilots can’t function to fly.

Smart!

Raven’s Earth Animal Pet Pals – Meet Zorro!

Raven’s Earth Animal Pet Pals – Meet Zorro!

Zorro is looking for his person and being one of the longest residents at the shelter, he can’t wait to find his furever home! He is a 70 lb., four-year-old shepherd mix – we actually had him DNA tested and his results were quite interesting! Surprisingly, Zorro is 25% German Shepherd, 25% Catahoula Leopard, 25% American Staffordshire Terrier, 12.5% Boxer and 12.5% other. What a combo!

This handsome boy enjoys being active, spending time outside hiking or playing, and going on adventures. He loves to run around the yard but also enjoys cuddling on the couch. He already knows basic commands and is very smart! He takes treats gently and would be a highly motivated student for more training.

Zorro will require an experienced adult-only home as an only pet. Adopters that will provide further enrichment, training, and exercise are a must. If you can open your heart and give this special dog the family he deserves, please email [email protected] to set up an appointment to meet him.
