TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Adorable dog goes viral on TikTok for watching sunsets

If you’re a dog person you will absolutely love this story.

This woman in California and her golden retriever are going viral on TikTok with videos she’s been posting of him looking at the sunset every day. He always sits in the exact same spot and watches the sun go down.

Her town in California has an honorary mayor, and the dog has become so popular that he is now running.  His name is Copper.  You can vote for him online, or by texting his name to 844-591-5745. Good luck Cooper!

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What is behind the contestant’s podiums on Jeopardy?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What is behind the contestant’s podiums on Jeopardy?

With Jeopardy in the news cycle a lot lately because if their host drama I’ve been watching it more than usual. I was thinking the other night, what exactly is behind those podiums the contestants stand at? We never see back there.

So they have the digital screen and stylus for Final Jeopardy, then the magic clicker they use throughout the rounds to chime in if they know the answer. But the most fascinating thing back there that blew my mind is that all the contestants stand on platforms that are adjusted to make sure they’re all the same height on the show. This is something that never even crossed my mind until I read this. But it makes sense! Can’t have some 7-footer having an intimidating height advantage over the other players.

Here is what it looks like if you’re curious.

Worn In Or Worn Out?

Worn In Or Worn Out?

Is there such thing as an article of clothing that is so old, it needs to get thrown out? Or is it better when it’s worn in? Either way, we think Producer Sean has had this for far too long!

Thursday September 2, 2021: Fake News Almanac; Weird Doctors; How Crazy Are You?

What’s your favorite month of the year?  A recent poll showed that February is everyone’s least favorite month, but Anna was surprised how close one of her favorite months came to coming in last!  (:30)

Have you ever wanted to ride one of the scooters at the grocery store?  Anna had a tense run in with someone on a scooter in the grocery store, and it made Anna wonder why this person was so angry?  (3:11)

Have you ever read the Farmers Almanac?  Anna thinks it’s just fake news at this point, so she decides to make her own predictions for the next year!  (7:10)

It’s frustrating to be stuck in traffic, but if you expect emergency vehicles to move out of your way, that’s all I need to know about you!  (11:09)

Have you ever had a weird encounter with your doctor?  Doctors are people too, and Anna had a run-in with her’s recently that reminded her just how weird they can be!  (13:57)

Anna and Raven got possibly the craziest phone call of their career yesterday.  But now it’s got them wondering if anybody can beat it?  (24:35)

The only thing worse than getting fired is getting fired publicly.  Mike Richards has been fired from his new job as the host of jeopardy, and it’s got Anna and Raven reminiscing about the times they’ve been fired!  (28:55)

Frank and Alyssa have a new baby and the frequent nighttime feedings are tough!  Alyssa is breastfeeding, so Frank doesn’t see why he needs to get up with her in the middle of the night to help.  He’d rather just sleep and be fresh the next day!  Whose side are you on?  (32:33)

Mary has got a shot at $1300!  All she has to do is beat Raven in pop culture trivia!  (39:55)

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Apple Watch saves a women’s life

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Apple Watch saves a women’s life

Technology is all around us nowadays. Sometimes it can be distracting, but other time it can be life saving.

Which was that case when an Apple Watch saved a 70-year-old woman’s life in Arizona recently.  The watch was showing that her heart rate was 174 and that she was in A-Fib “call your doctor immediately”  So she went straight to the E.R. and ended up spending a week in the hospital.  Turns out she had an irregular heartbeat that could’ve led to stroke or blood clotting if not treated.

She reached out to Apple CEO Tim Cook last week to share her story. Tim sent back a response and thanked her for telling him the story saying how stories like this inspire them (Apple) to keep pushing forward.

Incredible.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why are hyperlinks always blue?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why are hyperlinks always blue?

You probably clicked millions of links in your internet life. And have most likely noticed that most of them are highlighted in blue. But why that color?

It all started back when the internet first came around and there were only a few web browsers. The most popular being Mosaic on Windows. Because the background was gray and the text was black lighter colors didn’t really show up well. So they went with the dark royal blue we all see today when we click a link.

Obviously now we’ve come so far that link colors can be changed, but when you see that OG blue hyperlink now you know how it all started.
