Weezer’s Rivers Cuomo Talks Pizza Making, His Baseball Fandom, and More With Kevin Begley

In between shows with Fall Out Boy and Green Day on their Hella Mega Tour this summer Rivers Cuomo, lead singer of Weezer, took some time to talk with me about Weezer’s big show at Foxwoods this weekend (Saturday night 8/7. Tickets at foxwoods.com) and a lot more!

We discussed everything from pizza making to his baseball fandom as someone who grew up in CT, and even how Weezer was able to make an entire album without using computers or electric guitars!

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: A woman’s airport nightmare turns into good luck

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: A woman’s airport nightmare turns into good luck

This story might make you cringe at first when you think about the stress of airports and traveling, but it gets better by the end trust me.

A woman from Missouri was visiting Florida last month and got to the airport to catch her flight home only to find out her flight had been cancelled. The next flight she could find was HOURS and hours later so she had A LOT of time to kill. So frustrating right? To pass the time she decided to buy a bunch of lottery tickets from the news stand in the terminal. She scratched one of them off… won a million dollars! Can you imagine?! At that point she could’ve just stayed in Florida and bought a new house.

Unreal. Even if you don’t believe “everything happens for a reason” this story is enough to get you to think about believing.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Are there any events that used to be in the Olympics but now are not?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Are there any events that used to be in the Olympics but now are not?

Another Olympic themed Mundane Mysteries for you! There have been a few brand new events added to this year’s Summer Olympics like skateboarding, surfing, and a few others. But I was wondering if there were any events they’ve gotten rid of over the years. There are, and there’s definitely a few I feel they should bring back!

Way back in the years between 1912-1948 they used to have events that weren’t all athletic related sports. Things like Painting, sculpting, architecture, writing, and even music! They should totally bring all of this back. Can you imaging an Olympic Battle of The Bands!? It would be the best.
