Anna did something unexpected this weekend.  There was a movie that she really wanted to go see, but she decided not to, and the reason why is indicative of how the movie industry works post-2020.  (:30)

Are you up to date on this last weekend’s stories?  Anna and Raven discuss what’s trending from over the weekend, including the reason that people are intentionally antagonizing Bob Saget on Twitter!  (3:22)

How long is 5 seconds, really?  Because if it takes you that long to do THIS, that’s all I need to know about you!  (7:21)

Anna and Raven’s boss always tries to get them to do Tiktok challenges, and they usually refuse.  But, when a news update showed them how completely ridiculous and dangerous this new challenge was, they knew they had to give it a shot!  (10:36)

At what point do you consider yourself old?  Anna’s mom has a very cut and dry answer about what exact age makes you “old”!  (13:40)

Have you ever snuck out of your house?  One father noticed that his son had snuck out of the house, and he used his home’s ring cameras to give his son a big surprise when he returned!  (17:04)

Does your significant other have a seemingly ordinary piece of clothing that drives you wild when they wear it?  Anna was wearing what she thought was a perfectly normal outfit, until her husband made a comment she didn’t expect!  (19:43)

How well do you know the people in your neighborhood?  A person on the NextDoor app in Raven’s neighborhood posted about finding something disgusting, and Anna and Raven just had to act it out!  (26:07)

If you had to guess what the top ten airports in the world are, what would you say?  The airports that made the list (and the ones that didn’t!) might surprise you!  (29:40)

Jonathan and Emily were taking a flight, and a woman asked if she could switch seats with Jonathan so she could be closer to her children.  Jonathan refused, and Emily thinks that was very rude!  Whose side are you on?  (33:40)

Deirdre has got a shot at $2100!  All she has to do is beat Raven in pop culture trivia!  (42:04)

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Lost dog finds its own way back to owner

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Lost dog finds its own way back to owner

I love dog stories and this might be the smartest animal in Connecticut.

A woman named Joann left her dog Indy with her parents in Chester, CT while she was attending a wedding in Virginia. Her father took the dog out Sunday morning but forgot the leash. The absolute worst feeling when a dog runs away.

Luckily the dog somehow found it’s way to the building where Joann works which is 2 miles away! There’s even security footage of the dog walking up to the building.

See, dogs can be very smart too. It’s not just cats with the brains.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: How many Friday the 13th’s do we get in a year?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: How many Friday the 13th’s do we get in a year?

If you haven’t heard yet today is Friday the 13th! Be careful out there…

Today’s mystery… how many times does a Friday the 13th happen in one year?

Each calendar year has at least one Friday the 13th in it, and at the most three of them. You would get three Friday the 13th days in a calendar year if January 1st fell on a Sunday in a leap year (2012 was the last time that happened), or if January 1st fell on Thursday in a non-leap year (2015 was the last time.)

The last time we only had 1 was 2016. Exciting! Hopefully you’re not having any bad luck today.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Nurse goes viral for something she does while NOT at work

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Nurse goes viral for something she does while NOT at work

Over the last year and a half during this pandemic we have talked about a lot of great stories from healthcare professionals. Every time they get better and better.

This one is about a Las Vegas ER nurse named Brooke Johns who has been getting a lot of press lately because of what she does when she’s NOT working.

On her days off she goes back into the hospital to style and freshen up her patients hair. Brushing, braiding, whatever they want. Think about it… you’re in the hospital and feeling your worst. Sick, uncomfortable, too tired to keep up your appearance. So the fact that Brooke is doing this for people is SO awesome.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why are so many restaurants closed on Mondays?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why are so many restaurants closed on Mondays?

If you’ve ever worked in the restaurant industry you’re probably familiar with having Monday’s off. But why is it Mondays?

First, Monday doesn’t make a lot of financial sense for most restaurants. Everyone goes on on the weekend and by Monday they don’t want to spend more money going out to eat. This makes Monday the slowest day of the week for most places. It also gives the staff a break after working like crazy over the busy weekend.

A lot of chains or smaller places might be open 7 days a week, but even if a place is open on Monday a lot of times managers will use that day to train new staff or work out new systems. So probably still best to wait until at least Tuesday to go out to eat.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Playing the longest basketball game ever for a good cause

I’ve heard of basketball games going into double, triple, maybe even four overtimes… but I’ve never seen anything like this.

A group of people in Buffalo New York are raising money for charity by attempting to break one of the craziest world records ever… longest basketball game. They started the game last Friday (8/6) and if they are successful it will end tonight (8/11). As someone who played basketball in high school I can tell you they’re going to be pretty winded by the end of this thing. Good luck!
