TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Police Officers Arrest Driver, Then Finish His Delivery Route

This is a police story you don’t hear every day.

Police officers in Nashville pulled over a guy because his brake lights were out. When they looked up his name and registration they found he was actually wanted for stalking and harassment so they arrested him. Then they realized something interesting in his car. It was filled with groceries! Turns out he was in the middle of a shift for a grocery delivery service. The officers decided to load up the bags in their cruiser and complete the delivery to the woman who ordered them. They said they knew it was the right thing to do when they saw ice cream

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What do the five Olympic rings stand for?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What do the five Olympic rings stand for?

If you watched the opening ceremony for the Summer Olympics from Tokyo this morning you saw those famous Olympic rings a lot. But what do they actually symbolize?

The five Olympic rings are meant to represent the five continents in the world. Those specific colors (blue, yellow, black, green, red) were chosen for the rings because they all appear on the flags of all the competing nations around the world. Pretty neat!

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Connecticut Forgives $17 Million in student loans for community college students

If you’ve ever had to pay off student loans you know how CRUSHING and stressful that can be. Especially for students over this past year or so during the pandemic.

Connecticut state colleges and universities just announced they are forgiving $17 million in student loans which will help over 18,000 kids in the state who wouldn’t have been able to pay them off otherwise. Former and current students who had debt between summer 2019 and spring 2021 will not have to pay.

That’s a pretty huge help for so many kids who will now be able to continue their education.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What do the plastic tag colors mean on bags of bread at the grocery store?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What do the plastic tag colors mean on bags of bread at the grocery store?

You’ve probably noticed this when you’re shopping in the bread aisle at the grocery store. The little plastic tags or twist ties on the bread bags are always different colors… but why?

It’s actually kind of an intricate system to show how fresh each loaf is. The colors are used to tell grocers when the bread was delivered. Most times you can tell which color is which day based on alphabetical order. For example, if you see blue, green, red, white, and yellow that would mean Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.

Now you can make sure you’re getting that freshest loaf next time you’re picking up bread.
