TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: A pet adoption story with a twist that will blow your mind

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: A pet adoption story with a twist that will blow your mind

Always love hearing about when pets get adopted and find homes, especially dogs. This story has a crazy twist to it that I never saw coming.

This woman in Pennsylvania went on an animal shelter website looking for a dog to adopt. While searching for one she ended up finding HER OWN dog that went missing two years ago! How insane is that? What are the chances?! The dog is a pit bull/Rottweiler mix named Kovu. As you can imaging he went crazy when he saw her in person as she picked him up from the shelter.

What a great story.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What is the difference between ponds and lakes?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What is the difference between ponds and lakes?

With fourth of July weekend coming up you might be spending time away on the water. Either a lake house or pond adventure. But what is the difference between the two?

A lot of it has to do with the depth of the water. Ponds and lakes are both inland bodies of freshwater that contain living creatures. Lakes are normally much deeper than ponds. That’s why if you’re water skiing, tubing, or taking a rid on the jet ski, you’re more likely doing it on a lake than a pond. Ponds are much more shallow, to the point that sunlight can actually reach the bottom. Because of this ponds tend to have more animals and creatures too.

Wednesday June 30, 2021: What Went Down In An Elevator; Wellness Wednesday; Cinematic Inspiration

Anna and Raven can’t wait to see the fireworks this weekend, but there’s one annoying habit a lot of people have while watching fireworks that Anna hopes she never has to see again!  (:15)

What crazy thing happened to you in an elevator?  It doesn’t have to be a story about getting stuck, one caller had a super awkward encounter with her CEO in the elevator and it didn’t happen the way you’d expect!  (3:32)

Are you the kind of person who goes overboard with negative self talk?  Anna feels like she speaks poorly about herself too often, but she’s found a (literally) magic word that might be able to help!  (9:55)

It’s nice to get a good deal and save a little money, but if you’re one of those people who holds up the line doing THIS, that’s all I need to know about you!  (13:43)

What did you see in a movie that you tried to replicate in real life?  Two guys recreated the cross-country moped trip from Dumb and Dumber, down to the last, grossest, detail!  (17:21)

There’s a new sport sweeping the nation that both young and old are obsessed with!  Find out what it is and why you may not have heard of it!  (25:07)

Do you have a cool job title?  Anna always struggles with how to describe her job, until she realized that coming up with a crazy job title is actually a hot new trend!  (29:01)

Jared and Maureen live in a condo complex with a pretty strict HOA, and they want to replace their windows.  Jared wants to get a deal from a non-approved vendor, but Maureen thinks it’s not worth the headache.  Whose side are you on?  (32:59)

Lynda’s got a shot at $300! All she has to do is beat Raven in pop culture trivia!  (41:08)

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Random strangers sitting in traffic jam save highway from catching fire

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Random strangers sitting in traffic jam save highway from catching fire

Next time you are sitting in stopped traffic on 95 or The Merritt you are no doubt going to think of this story.

While people we sitting stopped in their cars on a major road in Oregon last Sunday, a small brush fire broke out on the side of the road in the grass. That’s when people in their cars sprung into action and started drenching the flames with any water bottles they had in their vehicles. Smart move! It worked, and the fire got put out prevented what could have been a pretty big disaster.

Next time your stuck in traffic make sure you’re aware of your surroundings.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Where does all the coffee come from?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Where does all the coffee come from?

We drink it every day. Sometimes multiple times a day. But where do we get all the coffee from here in the U.S.?

Funny enough, only two states actually produce coffee here in America. Hawaii and California. Which makes sense since you see a lot of Hawaiian and Californian blends. Otherwise, almost 90% of the coffee we consume here is imported, mostly from South America.

Cheers! I hope you’re cooling down with an iced today.
