MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What is the difference between ponds and lakes?

With fourth of July weekend coming up you might be spending time away on the water. Either a lake house or pond adventure. But what is the difference between the two?

A lot of it has to do with the depth of the water. Ponds and lakes are both inland bodies of freshwater that contain living creatures. Lakes are normally much deeper than ponds. That’s why if you’re water skiing, tubing, or taking a rid on the jet ski, you’re more likely doing it on a lake than a pond. Ponds are much more shallow, to the point that sunlight can actually reach the bottom. Because of this ponds tend to have more animals and creatures too.
