TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Guy In New Hampshire Uses Apple Watch To Save His Own Life

Make fun of Apple all you want but sometimes these devices are life savers.

This guy in New Hampshire was ice skating all alone last Sunday (probably not the smartest idea in the first place) when all of the sudden he fell through the ice. Luckily he was able to think fast and use his Apple Watch to call 911. Firefighters showed up five minutes later and were able to save his life.

Amazing.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Do bees ever sting other bees?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Do bees ever sting other bees?

Weird one, I know. But yes it’s true! Humans aren’t the only things bees go after.

When bees are protecting their hives from outsiders, some of the “guard bees” will stay by the entrance and be on the lookout for other bees that try to come in. If there’s a rogue bee from another hive trying to steal some nectar, the guard bee will bite and even sting the intruder. Seems like it would be more difficult to sting another bee than a human, but it does happen. Crazy!

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Food Company Helps Mom And Her Autistic Son

We’ve all had a favorite food that a company gets rid of and it’s so frustrating. But sometimes going above and beyond for your customers is just the right thing to do.

An organic food company called Nature’s Path recently discontinued a line of their frozen waffles.  This one mom in Canada panicked, because they’re the only thing her nine-year-old autistic son will eat.  Once the company heard about this they managed to track down all of the remaining boxes that were out there, and delivered them to her and the son for free!

Now they are even working on a special at-home recipe for her so they can recreate that delicious waffle magic he loves so much.  THAT’S customer service.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why does a round pizza go in a square box?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why does a round pizza go in a square box?

One of the many pizza mysteries. Why are the boxes always square if the pizza is round?

Like most things, it really all comes down to cost saving. It is much cheaper to mass produce square boxes than round ones since a square box can be made from a single sheet of cardboard. The square boxes are also much easier to stack and store since they can remain flat until their used.

There is also a theory out there that the square shape keeps the heat inside the box better? I’m not sure if I buy that one though.
