Friday, Feb 12th, 2021: Raven’s Report Card; Worst Valentine’s Day; Wheel of Romance

Friday, Feb 12th, 2021: Raven’s Report Card; Worst Valentine’s Day; Wheel of Romance

Valentine’s Day can be a day of celebrating love, but it can also be a day of total misery!  What happened on your WORST Valentines Day?  Raven lost all of his furniture, and Anna might’ve broken the record for most McDonald’s eaten in a day!

What is love?  Everyone knows what it feels like, but few people can describe it.  Anna and Raven asked you to send in clips of your kids trying to explain love, and the results are adorable and hilarious!  (3:40)

Gorilla Glue has been in the news a lot this week, so if you STILL think that it’s not that strong and you do THIS to try and prove it, that’s all I need to know about you!  (7:30)

Every week, Raven’s wife Alicia calls in to give him a grade on how he’s been doing as a husband.  The last couple weeks he’s been averaging a C-, but maybe this is the week he turns it around!  He DID do something pretty nice for Alicia while she was out on a girl’s night…  (11:24)

President’s Day and Valentine’s Day have nothing to do with each other.  Until NOW!  Anna and Raven play “Who’s the Hottest President”!  And it’s not just the usual ones, like JFK, Reagan and Obama.  Anna thinks that THIS Civil War era President is super hot!  (14:53)

Roses are red, violets are blue, Anna and Raven have some poems for you!  Anna and Raven had 5th graders write their own Valentine’s Day poems, and the results are AMAZING!  (18:51)

A few days ago, Comedienne and Dating Expert Courtney Davis had Ann and Raven spin the “Wheel of Romance”!  The wheel had a bunch of romantic gestures that Anna and Raven had to do for their significant other.  Well, they did it, they recorded it, and you won’t believe what Raven had to wear for his wife while cleaning the house!  (25:23)

Natalie and Shawn’s 19-year-old daughter, who is a college freshman, has just informed them that her new boyfriend is 37 years old and divorced. He also has a three-year-old from his first marriage. Dad is not happy about it and says he will not continue to pay for her school if she continues with this relationship.  Mom says that if they threaten her with that it’ll only cause more problems.  They need to just say they don’t approve and then hope she makes up her own mind to move on. Whose side are you?  (32:15)

Tracy thinks she has what it takes to beat Raven in pop culture trivia!  Can she win the $400 jackpot, or will Raven’s winning streak continue?  (40:11)

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Getting Vaccines To Homebound Seniors Becoming A Nice Trend Lately

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Getting Vaccines To Homebound Seniors Becoming A Nice Trend Lately

With the Covid-19 vaccine rolling out across the country not everyone has the ability to get to a vaccination site, especially seniors.

Luckily there are now programs being used to get people vaccinated even if they can’t leave the house. Like 97-year-old Dorothy Loper from Bridgeport. Dorothy is a WWII Navy Veteran who was able to get her shot from the Bridgeport Fire Department along with health officials from the City of Bridgeport.

My grandfather who lives up in Massachusetts, also a WWII veteran, was able to get his shot at home as well through the same type of program. My cousin who works as a rapid response nurse at the nearby hospital was able to give him the shot. Which was pretty awesome.

If you know someone here in the Bridgeport area who may qualify for an at home vaccine you can get more info about setting it up by calling  203-576-7993. Stay safe!

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why does Cupid shoot arrows?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why does Cupid shoot arrows?

With Valentine’s Day coming up this weekend I was wondering why Cupid shoots arrows?

One of Cupid’s Roman names is Cupido. Which means “desire”.  In both Greek and Roman Mythology, Cupid always had a bow and arrow with him that he would use to shoot the power of love (shout out, Huey!) at whatever and whoever he wanted.  That’s a lot of power for one little guy and his arrows.

Thursday, Feb 11th, 2021: Parents Swearing; Concussion Discussion; Your Song

Is it ok to not tell your husband about something your child did?  Anna’s two year old can be a handful, but when she did THIS to Anna’s husband’s computer, Anna wasn’t sure how to handle it!

Everyone asks what they should get their significant other for Valentine’s Day, but what should you NOT get them?  Etiquette expert Karen Thomas goes over which gifts you should avoid this Valentine’s Day!  (3:01)

Have you ever heard your parents swear?  Anna is 40 years old, and had never heard her mother swear until THIS happened!  (6:10)

It’s nice to celebrate a big win, but if you are throwing around your valuables after 1 wine cooler, that’s all I need to know about you!  (10:04)

Have you ever gotten a concussion?  Rob Gronkowski said he’s had 20 concussions in a recent interview!  Anna and Raven share their concussion stories, and it’s a miracle Anna’s still alive after her’s!  (13:02)

Everyone plans on have a romantic, exciting Valentine’s Day dinner, but in reality most people just end up ordering takeout and watching a cheesy movie.  But is that so bad?  Anna and Raven give you the top 3 things you need to have a great Valentine’s Day!  (19:49)

Have a question about your love life?  Call Anna and Raven’s Cupid Hotline!  Anna and Raven will answer your questions about romance!  (22:38)

Is you kid a biter?  Anna’s pre-teen was a very calm baby, but her toddler can be a bit of a handful!  Anna gets advice from callers about how to get her 2-year old to stop biting, but one popular piece of advice might get her in legal trouble!  (26:25)

Remember your first relationship?  What was your song?  Raven slow danced to Angel by Aerosmith, but Anna’s song had some hidden innuendo that she hadn’t noticed in her younger days!  (30:24)

Eric and Susan have dinner reservations for Valentine’s Day and Susan invited her best friend to join them. Her friend is recently divorced, going through a hard time, and Susan didn’t think it was a big deal since they’re just going to a local pub for burgers. Eric wants her to un-invite her friend because it’s Valentine’s Day and she didn’t even ask what he thought about inviting her in the first place! Whose side are you on?  (37:20)

Denise has a chance at winning $200!  All she has to do is beat Raven in pop culture trivia!  (44:34)

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: First Free Books, Now Free Sleds!

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: First Free Books, Now Free Sleds!

You may remember the story a few months back about how neighborhoods around the country are setting up little pop-up free libraries. Basically you set up a box in your neighborhood, and anyone can take or leave a book.  Now small towns in places like Buffalo and Michigan have decided to make the best of all this winter snow and are doing the same thing, but with sleds!

We totally need this here in Connecticut. Maybe I will start one.
