TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Pizza Bringing People Together In Our Nation’s Capitol

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Pizza Bringing People Together In Our Nation’s Capitol

As a long time pizza lover I’ve always said pizza is the perfect food to bring people together. It’s shareable, everyone likes it, easy to eat. It’s the ultimate food peacemaker.

The latest example coming from a few members of Congress who started a pizza donation movement to bring some delicious pies for the National Guard members who are currently stationed at the Capitol building in D.C. ahead of next week’s Inauguration.

I have a good friend who lives in D.C. and he said the local pizza place they’re getting the pizza from called “We The Pizza”, great name btw, is fantastic. So at least they are getting quality slices.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Where did “Pound Cake” get its name?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Where did “Pound Cake” get its name?

I always thought it was called pound cake because you “pound” the ingredients to make it. Nope. The real answer is even better.

It’s called pound cake because one of the first ever recipes for it called for a pound of butter, a pound of sugar, a pound of eggs and a pound of flour. That’s A TON of pound cake, ha ha.
