Thursday, Jan 14th, 2021: Raven’s Report Card; Pizza Topping; Excuses

Anna and Raven read a study that said the most popular pizza combination of 2020 was…pineapple and ham?  What’s your crazy pizza topping?

Would you let your kids watch Schitt’s Creek?  Would you let your children SAY Schitt’s Creek?  Turns out, maybe you should!  Carrie Goldman is the author of a New York Times article that highlights the benefits of watching more mature content with your kids.  Anna and Raven get her perspective in the podcast!  (2:49)

Nobody can tell another person who to love, but if you’re a man who finds THIS attractive, that’s all I need to know about you!  (6:34)

Raven’s wife Alicia wasn’t allowed to eat for 36 hours this week because of a medical procedure.  Was Raven kind and understanding, and suffer alongside his wife?  Or did he eat tons of greasy food right in front of her?  Find out in Raven’s Report Card!  (10:07)

Do you make excuses on a daily basis?  It turns out, most of us do!  Anna and Raven found a study that measures how many excuses people make on a daily basis, and you won’t believe how many it is!  (14:07)

If your friend got engaged, but you HATED their Fiancé, would you say something?  Anna and Raven are torn about what they would do, so they asked people to call in to share their thoughts!  (23:41)

Annie and Christian have a deposit to rescue a dog but they just found out that they’re expecting their first child! Annie wants to go through with the pet adoption, Christian says they should cancel; they need to focus on being parents of a real baby, not a fur baby! Whose side are you on?  (30:30)

Raven has been on a roll recently!  Does Lisa have what it takes to beat him in pop culture trivia and claim the $800 jackpot? (36:50)

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Retired Guy Has Been Fixing People’s Bikes For Free During Pandemic

During such a challenging time like we’re experiencing right now with this pandemic it’s always great to see people use their skills to help others.

This one retired guy in Maryland named Ric Jackson has been fixing people’s bikes for free during the pandemic.  He started doing it last April and has now fixed over 650 bikes since then.  He refuses to accept any cash payment for his services. The only type of payment he’ll accept is baked goods. Love that.

Your “Go To” Picture Pose

Taking pictures can be pretty awkward! How do you stand? Should you smile? Are you dressed well enough for a photo? Anna & Raven show you their “go to” picture pose, and even mimic each others!

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do we get goosebumps when we’re cold?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do we get goosebumps when we’re cold?

It happens all the time when you get chilly. Those hairs on your arm stand up and you get goosebumps. What causes this though?!

It’s all thanks to something called the Arrector pili muscles. They are fan-shaped muscles at the base of each hair follicle. These cause the goosebumps. The way it works is that these muscles contract when the body is cold. They’re trying to generate heat and cause your hair to “stand up straight” on their skin. Actually a pretty cool way that nature is protecting you.
