Imagine you are finally uncluttering your house, getting rid of all your old junk, especially that old piano no one ever uses. So you put it out by the sidewalk for bulk pickup.
While peering out the window to see if anyone has taken it yet you see one of the greatest songwriters/pianists of our lifetime tickling the ivory on the side of the street. WHAT?!?!!
This exact moment happened in Huntington Long Island recently when Billy Joel came across this old piano and decided to just start playing it. That has to almost be a natural reaction for the Piano Man at this point right? I’d actually be more shocked if he DIDN’T start playing it.
He even had some funny comments about it too “Not bad . . . it just needs tuning. And the finish is beat. It’s a perfectly good piano. It’s a shame to throw it out. At least donate it to [a thrift store]. They’d probably take it.”
