TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: The Unique Idea that Is Connecting Teenagers With Older Generations

You hear all the time that the younger generations just can’t relate or understand the older generations and vice versa. Well this great program up in Canada is trying to change that.

The idea is that teenagers can sign up to call seniors once a week, just to check in and talk on the phone for a while.  So far it has been a huge success.

They’re supposed to talk for 30 minutes, but a lot of the calls run long because the conversation is so great. One 17-year-old girl who wants to be a nurse got paired with a 99-year-old who used to be a nurse.  After talking on the phone for a month the finally got to meet in person the other day.

This proves the power of a human to human connection no matter what age you are. Hopefully more programs like this start popping up everywhere.
