MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What is the difference between a book and a novel?

It all comes down to the amount of words. Books don’t need to have a fixed amount of words to be considered a “book”. While a novel must have no less than 40,000 words in the story or collection of stories. Anything less than 40,000 words and it cannot be referred to as a novel. Just a book.

So if you’re started to pen that epic novel you’ve always wanted to write, remember that word count… 40,000.
