TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: It’s never too late to be a college athlete

This story is a perfect example of how it’s never too late to start something new. No matter how old you are or where you are in life.

This woman named Debbie Blount recently made the golf team at Reinhardt University in Georgia.  Which normally wouldn’t be big news, but not only did she make the team… she’s also probably the oldest college golfer in the country.  She’s 63 years old, and a sophomore at the university.

It all started years ago when her husband sadly passed away. He was the one who introduced her to golf.  She only started playing golf because she wanted to spend more time with him.

Once he passed, instead of being sad every day, she wanted to do something to stay busy and take her mind off is so she went back to school.  Now she’s on the golf team and her coach and teammates are loving it. She’s almost become sort of a mentor and teacher for them.

The accomplishments don’t stop there. She’s also the first person in her family to attend college and in the running for homecoming queen this year.

Go Debbie!
