TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Why this woman was all smiles as she finished last in the NYC Marathon

“If you can’t be first, it’s great to be last.”

That was the quote from 42 year old Fredi Bangwa when she crossed the finish line last Sunday as the final runner in the NYC Marathon.

Don’t worry, finishing last was not a negative thing at all for Fredi. It’s actually quite the opposite. She has rheumatoid arthritis, and had to do the last 10 miles of the race with a walker, but refused to quit.  Her final time clocked in at just under 11 hours.

What a great story of determination and working towards a goal to accomplish. Congrats to Fredi on her marathon finish!
