You’ve probably heard this all your life. Trouble sleeping… have a glass of warm milk before bed to help. But does that actually work? And why?
Depending on the person it certainly can… there are a couple different reasons why. First, milk contains a variety of amino acids which hare the building blocks of proteins. Those proteins help promote good sleep in different ways. The other reason is that drinking a warm glass of milk could be soothing or relaxing to you for personal reasons. Like if your parents used to give you milk before bed when you were a little kid. That can calm your thoughts and set your mind up for a good night’s sleep.
