MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Does ripped paper money still have value?

You’ve probably had this happen to you at some point over the years. Either you kids rip your $10 bill, or you find a dollar on the ground that’s ripped apart. Can you still use it?

The answer is yes. With a stipulation. A ripped dollar bill will still hold its face value, as long as the remaining piece is larger than half of the original.
