I’m always entertained by these internet debates on reddit over the silliest things. The latest one up for debate is “what do you call the ends of a loaf of bread?” Some are insisting it’s the “crust”, others thing “end piece”, another popular one is “the heel”.
But is there an official name for it? Funny enough, people had this exact same debate on Twitter a few years ago and Bimbo Bakeries, U.S.A. the people behind bread companies like Sara Lee and Thomas’ say that the industry term for it is “The heel”.
So there you have it. I never eat the heel for the record. Always goes to the ducks.
