THE FEED: Dinner Destinations After a Night of Holiday Lights

Each Tuesday, Kevin and Jenna talk about all things food in Connecticut with Alex from CT FoodGirly. Check out the spots CT FoodGirly has in mind that are perfect for dinner after a night of visiting the local holiday light displays:

– Branford, CT has their Sip N Stroll this Thursday from 12-8pm. If you want to
keep the night going with your friends, you can stop into Home Restaurant, this
is your comfort food, local cocktails, warm atmosphere space, they just released
their winter menu, so a lot of good things are coming out of Home. There also is
Mi Bella, which is a small italian restaurant right on the Branford Green, great
appetizers here. We also have 1928 Cocktail Club, so you can grab really
delicious drinks in this fun atmosphere spot, great for the girls and also right on
the green. We also have DarBar India for great food, Doma for an italian meal
and Pasta Cosi as well.

– New Haven has the Fantasy of Lights, which is a beautiful light display at
Lighthouse Park. If you drive through this event and need some dinner after or
before, you can check out Transilvania Restaurant and Bar which is a great
Romanian restaurant. There is also one of my favorites, Bistro Mediterranean
Tapas Bar. Their brussel sprout and truffle salad is to die for. There is also
DePalma’s, great pizza, and Aniello’s Pizza and Italian Restaurant.

– In Fairfield, there is a trademark called the Wonderland at Roseville, which is an
incredible light display at a single house that is literally decorated head to toe
with beautiful lights. The best part is that they raise money for the Shriners
Children hospitals. There is a great restaurant near this house called Puerto
Vallarta, with awesome Mexican food and drinks. There is Geronimo’s Tequila
Bar & Colony Grill over there as well and a Mecha Noodle Bar if you want
some yummy Ramen and dumplings.

– Lastly, there is Glow Hartford at the Connecticut Convention Center. This is a
great festival for the kids, with interactive light gardens, photos with Santa and a
festive holiday market and live entertainment daily. It’s been open since
November 18th and closes on December 23rd. Now there are so many delicious
restaurants in this area, we have The Capital Grille, a fine dining steakhouse,
Sorella, a relaxed italian restaurant with homemade pasta and brick-oven pizzas,
Trumbull Kitchen, Max Downtown, Social Republic and so many more. You
can’t go wrong in Hartford after the Glow Hartford light display.
