TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Cheerleader still competes in state championship alone after entire team quits

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Cheerleader still competes in state championship alone after entire team quits

I love this story because of how it proves you should never give up on something you’ve set out to accomplish. Even if you have to do it on your own.

This high school cheerleader in Nebraska had her entire squad quit the team just before they were about to head to state championships. They all had various reasons for leaving the team, but Katrina decided she was going to soldier on even if it meant competing alone. And that’s exactly what she did. Explaining that she put in way too much time and effort to just give up now.

Katrina performed the entire routine solo at the championship. Finishing 8th out of 12 teams. Which is actually the highest the school has finished in 3 years. Good for her! Love it.

As far as plans going forward Katrina says she wants to enlist in the Air Force once she graduates this summer. I feel like with an attitude like this she is going to go far and accomplish great things.

There are also photos, and video of her full routine. Amazing.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why are night insects like moths so drawn to lights?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why are night insects like moths so drawn to lights?

With spring and summer almost here it’s time for all those bugs to fly into your back porch light. But why do they do this? It’s actually quite interesting, and kinda sad in a weird way.

A lot of experts say night insects, such as moths, are attracted to light bulbs because they are actually mistaking them for the light of the moon. Way back before humans and electricity they would navigate the Earth by the light of the moon. So anytime they see an artificial light they think that’s what they’re traveling towards.
