TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Deli worker does goes above and beyond to connect with two of her regular customers

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Deli worker does goes above and beyond to connect with two of her regular customers

Sometimes it feels like customer service is a lost art. Going above and beyond for people who are loyal to your business is a must if you want to be successful in any field.

A perfect example of this is this story of a 22-year-old deli worker in Australia. She has gone viral now because of what she’s done to connect with two of her regulars at the restaurant. The two people are deaf. So she made it a point to learn basic sign language in order to communicate with them whenever they come in. After learning a few phrases on YouTube to start it has worked well so far, but she said she plans to stick with it and keep learning until she is fluent in sign language.

Such a wonderful thing for her to do. I bet that deli is delicious too.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do we say “In like lion, out like a lamb” about March?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why do we say “In like lion, out like a lamb” about March?

You’ve probably heard this saying every year around this time “March comes in like a lion, out like a lamb” but what does it mean and where does it come from?

According to the Farmers’ Almanac, the phrase is a weather folklore going back centuries ago that meant if the weather at the start of month was bad (roaring, like a roaring lion) then in theory March should end with good weather (gentle, like a lamb).

But why those specific animals? That’s based on astrology and the zodiac signs. This time of the year in March, Leo is the rising sign and then when April arrives it’s Aries which represents the lamb.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Airbnb steps up and offers free housing to Ukrainian refugees

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Airbnb steps up and offers free housing to Ukrainian refugees

What’s happening over in Ukraine and Russia is absolutely heartbreaking. There is nothing “good” about the war itself. But in between the headlines, photos, and footage there are a few bright spots shining through of people helping the innocent everyday civilians in Ukraine.

Airbnb recently announced they will be offering free housing for 100,000 Ukrainian refugees in Eastern Europe. This will give the people a place to stay for at least a few weeks. Which is an amazing gesture from the company.

Let’s hope all this conflict and suffering ends soon, but in the meantime it’s nice to see people stepping up to help out.
