Q: 1 in 6 people will do this on Thanksgiving this year?
It’s hard for any team to go undefeated no matter the sport or level of the league. It’s even more challenging when the team is up against something beyond just wining games.
This is exactly the case with “The Cubs”, an undefeated varsity football team in California. They’ve been all over the news lately because all of the players are deaf. The players rely on sign language which competing, and somehow they have gone 12 and 0 so far this year.
This is a team who hasn’t even had a winning record in the last seven years. If they can win their next game this Saturday, it will be the first division title in ANY sport in the school’s 68-year history! Unreal.
I for one will absolutely be cheering them on this weekend.
It’s going to happen to all of us on Thursday right around an hour after your second helping of turkey. Eyes start to get heavy, the couch gets a little more comfy, the traditional post-meal nap! All thanks to turkey. But why?
Turkey contains something called L-tryptophan. Which is an amino acid linked with sleep. It encourages serotonin production in your brain that in turn makes you feel relaxed and sleepy.
While turkey has a ton of L-tryptophan, it’s not the only food that has it. Any high-protein food you eat on a regular basis, like other meats, cheese, nuts can have the same effect. So any of those Thanksgiving cheese boards could be the culprit too.
There aren’t many (good) Thanksgiving songs out there, so we tasked Producer Jon to write a brand new one! Tell us what you think! Should we add anything to it?
It’s a depressing thought, but if your significant other passed away, how long would you wait to move on? Would you? Anna has encouraged her husband to move on if something were to happen to her, but she’s not sure she’d want to if it was the other way around! (:15)
Traveling during Thanksgiving is always difficult, but is there a time a “best” time to leave? Not really, but there is definitely a “worst” time! (3:37)
Parking can be tough when the whole family gets together at the same house, but if you resort to doing THIS, that’s all I need to know about you! (6:49)
When did you move from the kid’s table to the adult table for Thanksgiving? Have you? Due to an odd set of circumstances, Anna is STILL sitting at the kids table for Thanksgiving, despite being a married mother of two! (10:41)
Is it possible to do Thanksgiving on a budget? Chef Plum from the Food Network talks to Anna and Raven about how to cook a delicious meal without breaking the bank! (17:52)
Shopping gets crazy at this time of year, especially at the big box stores like CostCo! Luckily, Anna and Raven are holiday shopping experts and they’ve got some tips to help you survive! (21:51)
We know that Thanksgiving is a time to give thanks, but what does the younger generation think? Anna and Raven ask kids to explain why we celebrate Thanksgiving! (25:32)
All stuffing is pretty much the same right? Wrong! Chef Plum from the Food Network has some great ideas to spice up this classic Thanksgiving side! (28:06)
Why are there no Thanksgiving songs? Adam Sandler has written the only one that Anna knows about, so she tasked Producer Jon with writing a new one. But she’s not exactly thrilled with the results… (32:07)
Nathan and Stephanie are hosting a big Thanksgiving gathering at their home this year and Stephanie has high hopes of having an electronic free day. There are so many teenagers (between their kids, nieces, nephews, etc.) that she wants to ban phones and TV from the dinner table. Nathan says it’s asking for problems, their guests and it’s supposed to be a fun day. Why put restrictions on them? Let them just enjoy it… plus, he wants to watch football while they eat. Whose side are you on? (35:47)
Gary thinks he’s got what it takes to beat Raven in pop culture trivia! Can he succeed and win the $1200 jackpot? (42:51)

Q: The Friday after Thanksgiving is the busiest day of the year for THIS profession?
Adele has been all over the news lately. Her new album 30 came out last week, she did the Oprah interview/concert a few weeks ago, and now she’s going viral for what happened on Sunday night.
Adele was doing a pre-recorded concert special over in the UK called “An Audience With Adele” when the interviewer asked her if there was anyone in her past who had supported her, inspired her or protected her from life’s trials and tribulations. Adele mentioned her English teacher Miss McDonald who got her into English Literature which lead to being obsessed with English and writing lyrics.
Then… they brought the teacher out on stage! Adele had not seen her in 20 years and instantly broke down in tears. Usually it’s Adele surprising her fans on stage, now someone turned the surprise on her.
What started in 1989 with President Geroge H. W. Bush has now become an annual Thanksgiving tradition at the White House… the pardoning of the turkeys.
Last Friday President Biden pardoned two turkey’s, “Peanut Butter” and “Jelly”. Cute. But what happens to the turkey’s after their pardoned? Over the years there are a few different adventures these turkey’s have had.
In 2005 and 2009 they went to Disneyland and Walt Disney World to be the grand marshals in the Thanksgiving parades. In 2010 and 2013 they vacationed at Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate.
No word yet what Peanut Butter and Jelly will be doing this year. But at least they’ve been pardoned.
Food poisoning during Thanksgiving is the highest of the year! What are the main things to do so your whole family isn’t sick this year? The number one thing is probably something you never thought of. Catch up with our podcast with Chef Plum from the Food Network.
