TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Bride’s wedding day disaster saved by kindness of total strangers

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Bride’s wedding day disaster saved by kindness of total strangers

Everyone has a crazy story of something “gone wrong” on your wedding day that you ultimately look back on and laugh years a later. But at the time it happens it feels like the worst thing ever. Unless someone saves the day like what happened to this couple.

A 28-year-old bride was on her way to her wedding in England. She had rented a fancy old car for the ride to the wedding venue. Seems like a neat idea in theory, until the car broke down on the way there! Yikes. She decided to HITCHHIKE and flag down a random couple driving by who managed to get her to ceremony on time.

Phew! Don’t they have Uber over there? One day she will be able to look back on this story and laugh but I’m sure she was sweating it out at the time.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What’s the difference between a tropical storm and a hurricane?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: What’s the difference between a tropical storm and a hurricane?

With the whole state keeping a close eye on the storm (Henri) coming up the coast this weekend it seemed like a good question to talk about today. What’s the difference between a “tropical storm” and a “hurricane”?

They both bring a lot of rain and wind and possible damage. The biggest difference between the two is the intensity of the wind. A tropical storm is defined as a tropical cyclone that has maximum sustained surface winds ranging from 39-73 mph. A hurricane on the other hand, is still a tropical cyclone but has maximum sustained surface winds of 74 mph or greater.

We will find out on Sunday which one Henri ends up being. Let’s hope it’s the lesser of the two.

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Hero cat comes to the rescue of owner

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Hero cat comes to the rescue of owner

Nothing better than a feel good pet story. This one is kind of like like Lassie. Remember that old show? That dog just had all the intuition to save people. In this scenario it was a cat who saved the day.

Last weekend an 83-year-old woman in the U.K. fell down a 70 feet down a ravine near her house.  Luckily her cat noticed her fall and stood up at the top making noise and meowing nonstop. It caught the attention of people nearby who called rescue crews that were able to come and save the women. She’s now in stable condition and will be okay.

All thanks to this hero cat!

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why are some fire trucks neon yellow?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why are some fire trucks neon yellow?

Most fire trucks you see are red. But every once in a while you see one of those neon yellow/lime green fire trucks. Why that color?

They actually did a study that showed that specific color of yellow/green is the least likely paint job on a vehicle to get hit by another vehicle. Which is super interesting! It also explains why a lot of safety vests and construction zone signs are that color too.

Raven The Bully…

Raven The Bully…

Out of everything that Raven could make fun of Anna for, he chooses this…

That Looks Good! May I Try Some?

That Looks Good! May I Try Some?

Is it ok to try other people’s food when you’re out to dinner?  It’s one thing to have a couple fries off a friend’s plate, but Anna thinks that what her husband does is going way too far. Do you agree?
