If you have kids this is one thing you’ll be happy about in 2020.
As a result of the pandemic classic toys are making a huge comeback this year. Barbie Dolls, Hot Wheels, and Legos are all WAY up in sales. Even Tonka trucks have jumped 250% from last year. The reason for this seems to be that people miss the simpler times of when these toys were popular. Also because parents are sick of seeing their kids stare into screens for hours and hours.
I say good! Bring back all the real toys. Less screens, more Legos.

I’ve always wondered this. You might have too. As we head into Halloween weekend why is it on the 31st?
Way back in the eighth century the Catholic Church made November 1st All Saints Day to honor saints and martyrs. The night before (October 31st) was knowns as All Hallows’ Eve. If you say that really quickly you’ll see why it turned into “Halloween”. Fun!
Happy Halloween Eve!

Watch Anna whip up some spaghetti squash with meatballs!
Here raven’s thoughts on the meal!
Here is the recipe!
Spaghetti squash with meatballs (or chicken)
-Place frozen meatballs (store bought or pre-homemade) or chicken in bottom.
-Top with crushed tomatoes or your favorite tomato sauce.
-Add seasoning/garlic/onion as desired.
-Cut a spaghetti squash in half and scoop out seeds.
-Place squash halves flesh side down on top of meat and sauce.
-Cover and cook on low for 6 hours or high for 4 hours.
-When done, take out squash and with a fork; scoop out the ‘noodles’ into the meat and sauce.
– Season as needed.
Thank you to Laura Alston for sending in this recipe!
There’s a lot of people out of work this year because of the pandemic. Some are using their free time to help others in their community.
Lauren Laborde is an our of work mom who lost her job right at the start of the pandemic this year. Since then she has been mowing lawns for seniors and veterans free of charge. She says she wanted to use her free time to help people. There’s even a website she’s doing it through with a fun name… IWantToMowYourLawn.com.

Every year you dress up with the kids and go knock on doors, ring doorbells, and say “Trick or treat”. But why do we even do this? Where did it all come from?
It all started back in the 1930s. When young boys would spend Halloween going around pranking local farmers. Not a very nice thing to do by the way. In order to try and stop them from pulling these pranks the farmers started to make deals with the boys and offer them “a treat” in exchange for not getting a” trick” pulled on them. It worked!
Hopefully this weekend you don’t get tricked or pranked. I would advise giving out as many treats as you can to avoid all the tricks.
Trick or Treat?! Always treat.
