Tell Me Something Good: Family Makes The Best of Their Cancelled Vacation With Their Own “COVID-Cabana”

As we get into the heat of summer family vacations are being cancelled left and right because of COVID-19. Travel just isn’t the same in 2020.

That didn’t stop one family in Akron, Ohio from having fun. Despite not being able to go on the the summer vacation they had planned, the Wynn family took matters into their own hands.  With a little help from the whole fam they were able to turn their backyard into makeshift “COVID-cabana” where they can hang out all summer. Fully equipped with bamboo beer garden and swimming pool. The Wynn family says creating this homemade vacation spot has actually brought their family closer together during these uncertain times.

Tell Me Something Good: Festive Highway Plays “America The Beautiful” As Cars Drive On It

It’s July 4th weekend. Some people celebrate with sparklers and fireworks. Some with cannonballs and White Claws. Then some parts of the country have rumble strips on their highway that play America the Beautiful as you drive on it. So cool!

Route 66 is a famous road near Albuquerque, New Mexico. If you happen to be driving down it at 45 miles per hour or more make sure to put your windows down. You will hear “America the Beautiful” as you drive.

Tell Me Something Good: 2 Popular Restaurant Chains Step Up To Help During Coronavirus Pandemic

Two restaurant chains that you’ve most likely been to before have stepped up big to help out their employees and healthcare workers during the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic.

First is the the founder of Texas Roadhouse restaurants (those rolls! so good) is donating his entire $800,000 salary to his workers.  Plus he’s giving another $5 million to an emergency fund which they will be able to access.  Pretty amazing way to take care of the people who work for his company considering the state of employment in the country right now.

Next is the Hard Rock Café. Such a fun place. You’ve probably been to the one at Foxwoods here in CT or maybe when you were on vacation, literally anywhere. There are so many! Anyway, Hard Rock is giving free burgers to all healthcare workers for the entire month of July. With the location in CT at Foxwoods closed at the moment, I believe the closest one to here would be in Times Square.
