Even though Coronavirus is still very much a problem around the country little by little it does feel like we are getting a tiny bit closer to normal as far as sporting events go.
The Travelers Championship is happening this weekend here in Connecticut and now Churchill Downs has announced they WILL allow fans to attend this year’s Kentucky Derby. The Derby has been rescheduled for September 5th, during Labor Day weekend. They are saying there will be fewer fans than usual allowed in and everyone will be encouraged to wear masks. I would imagine there will be social distancing guidelines in place too. Even if you’re watching from home at least we all get to put on fancy outfits and watch the horses while sipping a mint julep right?!

Tom tried but Raven claims another victory in Can’t Beat Raven, raising the jackpot total to $600!
If there is one thing that has happened since this pandemic started it’s that people have become more creative than ever.
Peyton Manker, a class of 2020 senior in Illinois is a perfect example of that. She entered a $10,000 scholarship contest sponsored by Duck Brand duct tape which challenges kids to make prom dresses and tuxedos out of just duct tape. Peyton decided to make hers coronavirus-themed and now the dress is going viral. You can see a photo of it here. It took her 394 hours and 41 rolls of tape to make the amazing dress.
She says she expected people to talk about it locally but is surprised at how much attention it’s getting around the country.
