THE FEED: May The 4th Be With You This Weekend

Every Friday in The Feed Kevin and Jenna talk to Megan from @CampByMama about all the great things to do in Connecticut with the family. As we head into a weekend of Star Wars memes (May 4th) Horse Races (Kentucky Derby) and margaritas (Cinco de Mayo May 5th) there are lots of fun events happening throughout the state for your whole family.

Saturday May 4th 10am-2pm: Kevin Begley at the Griffin Hospital Annual Baby Fair

The Childbirth Center at Griffin Hospital Annual Baby Fair is back after a three-year hiatus.

Expectant parents, new parents and their families are invited to learn about the Childbirth Center and area maternity and child care resources from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sat., May 4 at Griffin Hospital, 130 Division Street in Derby. This free event features many exhibitors, special offers and discounts, raffles, door prizes, tours of the Childbirth Center and information about the Center’s classes and support groups for before and after childbirth.

Sunday May 5th: Circle of Care – Care to Run 5K

Join The Circle of Care for their 10th Annual CARE to Run 5K and Community Walk Event supporting children with cancer! May 5th at Merwin Meadows Park in Wilton.

The 5K Your Way is back this year! Register to run and test your time, walk at your own pace, or register virtually to complete your 5K however you want – treadmill, elliptical, rowing machine… the possibilities are endless. This is a timed race for runners and not timed for walkers.

1. HoliFest India’s Festival of Colors Saturday May 4 @ 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm in Greenwich at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park. This event is expected to draw nearly 1,500 people of all ages for a day of music, dancing, fun activities and of course, an epic color throw.

2. Spring Bird Breakfast Saturday, at the Greenwich Audubon Center 8:30 AM – 11:00 AM Free admission. Pre-registration is required. Join fellow bird lovers of all ages as they observe the birds that and enjoy a delicious breakfast.

3. Pet Pantry Warehouse New Canaan Dog Days on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m Location is at the New Canaan Nature Center. This event features an Ice Cream Pawlour, Pet Pantry Bone Bar, Sniffari, Doggie Beer Garden, Dog Lovers Lure Coursing and back again this year are two scavenger hunts hosted by Rock Paper Scissors Custom Events.

4. Cherry Blossom Tours Saturday at Mill River Park in Stamford. Embark on a journey through cherry tree grove, followed by the timeless art of flower pressing, available only when blooms are naturally abundant. Join us for tours, priced at just $3 cash per person ages 5 and above, with complimentary admission for children under 5. Spring scavenger hunts are also available for the young ones to enjoy!

5.Day out With Thomas all weekend in Essex. Pop on board a train ride adventure with Thomas the Tank Engine! Day Out With Thomas “Bubble Tour” is heading to Essex Station! Purchase your tickets in advance as these events sell out each year! Arrive early to enjoy all the included activities!
