You might have seen this wild video that’s been going around of a New Haven based pizza truck getting into a rollover crash on 91 in Middletown/Cromwell last weekend.
Big Green Truck Pizza is well know around Connecticut. You may have had their pizza at weddings, parties, various events around the state. An erratic driver was swerving all over the highway and slammed into their truck from behind causing the rollover. Luckily, and incredibly, no one was injured in the crash.
As you can imagine having their truck out of commission now is going to have a devastating impact on their business. The owners say it could take 12-16 weeks to get another oven. Luckily the pizza community is strong in CT so other places are helping them out. There is also a GoFundMe you can donate to here.
Here’s to hoping Big Green Truck is able to start cooking up pies again very soon.
Good news for deer, bears, and any other wild animals who find themselves living near busy roads. The world’s largest wildlife overpass has started construction in California. When finished it will help animals safely cross the 10-lane highway and avoid accidents.
Not only will it save a lot of lives, car accidents, and animals it will also help booster the population of certain species on the verge of extinction like mountain lions in that area.
Such a great idea. I hope they start to implement it in other areas of the country like here in Connecticut. I can think of a lot of stretches on The Merritt that could use one of these.
