Like the word “teenager”. The word first appeared in print in an issue of Popular Science three in 1941. One of the writers for the magazine was talking about people who were of the “teen age” (13 through 17) and wrote “I never knew teen-agers could be so serious. The term stuck ever since. MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Does a warm glass of milk really help you sleep better?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Does a warm glass of milk really help you sleep better?

You’ve probably heard this all your life. Trouble sleeping… have a glass of warm milk before bed to help. But does that actually work? And why?

Depending on the person it certainly can… there are a couple different reasons why. First, milk contains a variety of amino acids which hare the building blocks of proteins. Those proteins help promote good sleep in different ways. The other reason is that drinking a warm glass of milk could be soothing or relaxing to you for personal reasons. Like if your parents used to give you milk before bed when you were a little kid. That can calm your thoughts and set your mind up for a good night’s sleep.

Please pass the milk!
