TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: The Man Who’s Been Donating Blood For 37 Years Has Helped Save Thousands Of Lives

Most people have donated blood at some point in their lives, but nothing compares to the amount this guy has donated.

From Texas, his name is Marcos Perez and he has been donating blood every two weeks for 37 YEARS! Specifically blood “platelets,” which take longer but can help more people in need.

Marcos had a blood transfusion which saved his life as a baby.  So he started doing it this in 1984, as soon as he was old enough to donate.  And pretty soon, he’ll hit the ONE-THOUSAND donation mark.  The most recent time he went was his 962nd blood donation. So far he has helped just under 3,000 people. Unbelievable.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Is It “St. Paddy’s” or “St. Patty’s”?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Is It “St. Paddy’s” or “St. Patty’s”?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Now if you’re posting on social you’ve probably seen and typed it both ways Paddy’s with a D’s and Patty’s with T’s. According to a new poll 49% of Americans go with the T version, 29% go with the D version, and the rest aren’t sure. But which is the real correct way?

Don’t worry, I found the answer for you.

People with Irish heritage are more likely to use the D version. This is the original, authentic Irish abbreviation. Reason being because the patron saint of Ireland is St. Padraig, which has a D in the name.  In English, the name is St. Patrick, which is where the T’s come from.

So if you want to be authentic and true to Ireland go with Paddy’s.

What Are Half Of These Marshmallows Suppose To Be?

We had Producer Sean count all the marshmallows in a Lucky Charms cereal box. We found out there was 247 total, but we question what half of these shapes are. Do you know? Because they look nothing like they do on the box…

Wednesday, March 17th, 2021: Happy St. Patrick’s Day!; Irish Proverbs; Weird Smells

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!  Anna is excited, because she finally has a reason to use this box of Lucky Charms that has been in the studio for months (don’t ask).  But she’s not planning on eating it, she’s got something else in mind!

What’s your favorite Irish saying or proverb?  Anna and Raven asked around the office and got some great answers!  Their boss even wrote his own Irish Limerick about them!  (2:29)

Dressing up for a holiday can be fun, but if you are wearing THIS on St. Patrick’s Day, that’s all I need to know about you!  (5:53)

Leprechauns are fun, kind, merry creatures right?  Wrong!  Anna and Raven did some intense research, and discovered something terrifying!  Spoiler Alert:  The research involved asking elementary school students.  (9:53)

Producer Sean has spent the entire morning counting the marshmellows in a box of Lucky Charms, and it made Anna and Raven wonder….what’s your lucky charm?  (16:41)

What’s the weird smell that you love?  Gasoline, markers, even skunks made the list!  But Raven mentioned that his dogs feet have a specific smell, and you won’t believe how many people noticed the exact same thing about their dog!  (27:20)

Dan been making extra money driving for a food delivery app. His wife Cara hates it because she thinks it dangerous. He even had kids egg his car recently, how do they know that next time it won’t be something more violent? He’s driving to strangers houses at all hours of the day/night. He says she’s overreacting and it’s fine, plus it’s good cash! Should he have to give it up and find a new side hustle?  (36:14)

Raven’s winning streak continues!  Can Joe finally beat him and win the $700 jackpot?  (43:20)

TELL ME SOMETHING GOOD: Family Uses Creative Hot Dog Idea To Give Back

Restaurants around the country are coming up with unique  ways to give back during this pandemic. This might be one of the most creative I’ve seen yet.

This hot dog place in Virginia called Perfectly Frank (great name BTW!) created a promotion called “Franks for Friends” where you can buy a meal for someone else to eat later.  What happens is they put your receipt on a bulletin board, so anyone can grab it and trade it in if they are running short on cash or just need a meal (here’s a pic). Now so many people have done it that they have a stockpile of receipts ready to go each day.

Amazing.

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why is green the color of St. Patrick’s Day?

MUNDANE MYSTERIES: Why is green the color of St. Patrick’s Day?

With St. Patrick’s Day coming up tomorrow I figured this would be a good mystery to solve so you know why you’re wearing all that green.

The color green was first used in St. Patrick’s Day celebrations back in the 18th century. This is when the shamrock first became a national symbol in Ireland. Because of how popular the shamrock became and with Ireland’s landscape looking VERY green, the color just stuck over all these years.

Can someone pass the green scrambled eggs please?!

What Do You Consider A Bad Grade?

What Do You Consider A Bad Grade?

What do you consider a bad grade? Anna said online that anything over a 75 is a good grade in her house, and some people gave her a lot of grief over it! But a few callers expectations might just be a little too much!
